1. Summary : In ancient philosophy, there was no division in science. But Thomas Hobbes and Isaac Newton changed this unity of science. Newton changed the basic framework by which individuals understood what was scientific. The first thinkers to attempt to combine scientific inquiry with the exploration of human relationships were Sigmund Freud in Austria and William James in the United States.

3.Discussion Point : In the contents of book, I don't get the exact meaning of the word 'positivism'. I want to study about the context of this word.
