SUMMARY

Stratification is array of people's class. Inequality of economy, race, gender help to explain social stratification.
To explain social stratification, Max Weber suggests three indices : Power, Property, Prestige.
According to these three indices, stratification is mesured and analyzed. Usually stratification is analyzed in three levels : Micro level prestige and influence, Meso-level access to resources, Macro-level factors.
There are Structural-Functionalism on stratification and Conflict Theories on stratification, its are literally applications of functionalism and conflict theory on statification.

OPINION & LEARNED ITEMS

In article, there are some examples of global inequality. Various parts of inequality have differences in each culture and country. So, I think social stratification what is based on inequality is a relative concept. But most countries have social stratification and class structure, so I think social stratification is also one of common phenomenon.
Also, because of its relative and common feature, I think social stratification is one of important question and problem to every society, and object of global analysis.
