Introduction to Sociology/Socialization

Summary


Socialization is a fundamental sociological concept, comprising a number of elements. Socialization has the three goals.
impulse control and the development of a conscience / role preparation and performance, including occupational roles, gender roles, and roles in institutions such as marriage and parenthood / the cultivation of sources of meaning, or what is important, valued, and to be lived for

Socialization is generally divided into two parts.
Primary socialization takes place early in life, as a child and adolescent. Secondary socialization refers to the socialization that takes place throughout one's life, both as a child and as one encounters new groups that require additional socialization.

And Socialization is divided into broad socialization and narrow socialization.
Broad socialization is intended to promote independence, individualism, and self-expression. And narrow socialization is intended to promote obedience and conformity.

Finally, it has been described as an example of growth unfortunate children the importance of socialization.

My Opinion


I think in sociology, socialization as an important part.So i was good to come to know exactly about the socialization. And looking at this treatise, I'm interested in Arnett. Because he exhibit goals of socialization and broad an narrow socialization. His division is concise and clear. So I want to find out more of Arnett.

Question


If they do not receive the proper socialization of a child, How would change to normal to be a socialization?
And how to find about Arnett? I can't found about him.
