Summary
Stratification affects our everyday lives.
Stratification refers to the hierarchical arrangement of people in a society.
Building on the ideas of Max Weber, who saw three main dimensions of stratification (class, status, and party), contemporary sociologists often define stratification in terms of socioeconomic status.
Power refers to someone's ability to get others to do his/her will, regardless of whether or not they want to.
Property, as used in this context, refers to the sum total of one's possessions as well as their regular income.
Prestige refers to the reputation or esteem associated with one's position in society.
There are many consequences that result from inequality, including reduced access to education and limited social capital.
My Opinion
It is good chance for me to know stratification.
In Wikibooks, I can know how about America' s social class.
And I think we can't eliminate inequality so far, but I changed the idea while looking at Wikibooks.
And I will think about how to remove inequality more.
And I learned what is 'Micro-Meso-Macro'.
It was a new analysis to me. I think not only from the wiki, and want to know more about 'Micro-Meso-Macro' elsewhere.
Question
How can I find ' Micro Meso Macro ' another media?
And I would like to know how to solve inequalities.
I think that In the current economic system,it is impossible to remove inequality completely. But I think, we can decrease the inequality.
ReplyDeleteI think that we can't eliminate inequality. Because as long as the capitalist system continues, the difference distribution of capital in accordance with the ability is a matter of course. Although we can not completely solve the inequality, well-appointed welfare system can alleviate this. Therefore, we must have a interest carefully welfare policy.
