Introduction to Sociology/Race and Ethnicity

Race and Ethnicity

A race is a human population that is believed to be distinct in some way from other humans based on real or imagined physical differences. In most cases, a race is
classified by physical differences such as face shape or body shape and
skin color.
Ethnicity, while related to race, refers not to physical characteristics but social traits that are shared by a human population.Unlike race, ethnicity is not usually assigned by other individuals. Ethnicity focus on sharing the culture and history that has been accumulated in the past.

My opinion

Race and ethnicity are basically different from other society and country. So people who
belong to certain race or ethnicity may argue that their race or ethnicity is better than
others. It may be the starting point for conflict and confrontation. Therefore we should maintain neutrality.
