Socialization
Socialization is a term used by sociologists, social psychologists to refer to the lifelong process of inheriting and disseminating norms, customs and ideologies, providing an individual with the skills and habits necessary for participating within his or her own society. Socialization is thus ‘the means by which social and cultural continuity are attained’
Socialization describes a process which may lead to desirable, or 'moral', outcomes in the opinion of said society. Individual views on certain issues, such as race or economics, are influenced by the view of the society at large and become a "normal," and acceptable outlook or value to have within a society. Scientific research provides some evidence that people might be shaped by both social influences and genes. Genetic studies have shown that a person's environment interacts with his or her genotype to influence behavioral outcomes.
My opinion&question
In modern society, mass media contributes to socialization as well as family, school and friends. It is surprising that the role of mass media is growing.
So, I wonder that mass media might achieve something about socialization in the future.
I agree your opinion, also I am interested in social role of mass media. I think in future, as mass media more develop than now, it occupy our life.
