Synopticon

Synopticon is concept that opposed to panopticon. Panopticon means few powers overlook the people. But synopticon means the people overlook powers. It can be possible cause of developing of media.

Through the development of information society, panopticon turns to synopticon. Internet locates in important position of synopticon. Internet make people communicate with unspecific, complain illegality and corruption, and combine opinion about major social issues. In internet world, we are so anonymous that do not study the pleasure of powers. If we are not anonymous in internet, synopticon will be panopticon.

Another cause is the position of the people in internet. Few decades ago, people are consumer of data. Only media tell us social issues and we just accept that data. But media could be controlled by powers, so people hardly keep an eye on them. But, nowadays, we can easily make data and share that. SNS such as Facebook or Tweeter is example.

If there is a demonstration and powers make media silence, we can get information about that on media. But If someone post on Facebook and people share them, powers can't silence people.
